The RTA has announced that passengers will now be able to take their e-scooters on to the metro again following the ban that was put in place in March this year.
There have been some rules put into place that people will have to comply with when travelling with an e-scooter, so that the safety of all passengers is maintained.
These rules include that the scooter must be folded not only when on the trains but also when in the station and on the escalators. In fact they cannot be ridden in any station or walkway.
There are also other rules around the maximum weight (no more than 20kg) , the fact that the power must be turned off at all times, the scooter must not be wet or dirty, as well as a limit on size (120 x 70 x 40cm).
This will no doubt be great news for all of the people who need to use an e-scooter to get to and from the metro stations and have struggled since the ban.
The ban followed a situation where a station had to be evacuated due to smoke from an e-scooter.
