The Dubai Metro Red Line has undergone extension work ready for Expo 2020 which started in October 2021. The new line and stations are are now fully open in plenty of time for the event.
There are a number of new stations which have been added to the red line starting from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station which has had work ongoing for a while now. The new stations include both underground and elevated ones to enable the new route to access the Expo 2020 site. The stations pass through the following locations:
Take Public Transport
If you are hoping to go to Expo 2020 in Dubai then it may be advisable to take public transport to the Expo site and the Metro is probably the best way to get there. You could also take a taxi which are reasonably priced in Dubai, if you are not staying close to a Metro station but are close to the Expo site.
The Expo site is quite a way (around 50km) from the International Airport (it is at the other end of Dubai near to where the Maktoum International Airport is) and is around 90km from Abu Dhabi International Airport, so that could also be an option to fly in to if you need to.
There are some hotels nearby but most are closer to the centre of Dubai or along the beachfront so if you want to combine beach and Expo then you could get a hotel around the Jebel Ali area or Jumeirah Beach Residence.
