The Dubai Metro New Year timings have often been different to the standard operating hours of the metro due to the increased use over the festive period. In previous years the metro has been open all night on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day to enable people taking part in the celebrations to be able to get home safely afterwards.
This year for the period over New Year, when people are also travelling more often, the RTA, in collaboration with Dubai Airports and other corporate entities, has decided to extend the days when the metro has longer operating hours and also to allow people to carry 2 pieces of check in baggage with them on the Metro.
The operating hours will be as follows:
From December 27th to December 28th 2019
The Red Line will be open from 5am to 3.30am the next day between Rashidiya station and DMCC station (at Jumeirah Lake Towers).
All stations on the Green Line will be open from 5.30am to 3.30am the next day.
December 31st 2019 to January 1st 2020
Dubai Metro New Year timings:
The Red Line between Rashidiya and DMCC station (at Jumeirah Lake Towers) will be for 24 hours, so there will be no break in service overnight on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day for those stations.
Again, all stations on the Green Line will be open for 24 hours.
January 2nd to 3rd 2020
The Red Line will be open from 5am to 3.30am the next day between Rashidiya station and DMCC station (at Jumeirah Lake Towers).
All stations on the Green Line will be open from 5.30am to 3.30am the next day.
At all other times the Metro will revert to standard operating hours which you can find here.
We will update you with any news about stations closing early (as the Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa station tends to do on December 31st) when we have it.
