Dubai Metro Map

We have created this Dubai Metro map from the information that we have gathered about the Dubai Metro stations, the zones and the current information about stations that are open.

Please note that this Dubai Metro Map is subject to copyright and should not be used without our express permission.

We will continue to keep the Dubai Metro map updated with station name changes and any additional stations that may open once the metro gets extended further out.

Station name changes happen occasionally due to companies purchasing the branding rights for a particular station, you can read about any changes in the news section.

You can click on the map for a larger version and print it if required.

Dubai Metro Map 2024

After the red line opening on 9 September 2009, the green line of the Dubai Metro opened on 9 September 2011. A few of the stations did not open straight away. However, as of 1 March 2014 all of the stations were fully open on both the green and red lines and in 2021 the Expo 2020 extension was also fully opened.

Both the green and the red lines will likely be extended further in the future to add to the 18 green line stations and the 35 red line station currently being used. There may also be other lines opening in the future. Check out the news page for ongoing information.

As you can see from the Dubai Metro Zones Map, there are currently 4 zones that encompass the Dubai Metro. There are 7 zones in total that also cover other methods of public transport, like the buses and the tram.

The number of zones that you travel through determines the price of the journey. You can buy tickets that encompass all zones, e.g. a one day pass.

Check out the Dubai Metro Tickets page for full information about the fares payable. Fares increased in November 2014 when the Tram opened but still offer great value for money.

  1. Hi, i will be going to dubai internet city (zone 2) from stadium station (zone5), is that 3 zones? How much fare do i have to pay on the student/personal nol card for my going route?

    1. Hi, it is not the zone numbers that count but rather than the actual number of zones. So you would go through zone 2, 6 and 5 (which is indeed 3 zones). So if you have the concessionary blue Nol card then the current fare is 3.75 dirhams as per the ticket price list here.

  2. Hi, I am a daily user of the metro station from UAE exchange, in your 2021 route map, it says that after UAE Exchange, AL KHAIL station is marked. Please check the station name !! I find no such station is there !!!.

    1. Hi, thanks that was a copy and paste error when creating the new map, I have corrected it now, thanks for spotting that!

    2. Hi, I would like to travel from Cent point station to Expo2020 station with my family. Kindly suggest which tickets i have to purchase?

  3. Hello:
I will be in Dubai soon. I will be traveling from Zone 5 to Zone 6, twice a day (that is, round trip) – for a month. Would it be cheaper to get the Silver card or ? Thank you.

    1. Hi, yes the silver card is cheaper than the red card for a month worth of journeys. You could get a weekly ticket if that works out cheaper.

  4. Hi,
I travel daily from my residence to my office in zone 2 by bus , now I wanted to get monthly pass,
please let me know in zone 2 travel area so that I can travel frequently.
I have managed card and I can update this car in monthly pass.

    Thanks

  5. Hi,

I’m coming to Dubai next month and during my 12 days stay I would be exploring the places by taking Metro. Could you please tell the major attractions in Dubai are in which Zone so that my traveling by metro becomes comfortable and cost effecting.

    Thanks.

  6. i am staying at the one and only royal mirage, and will be going to the convention center next to the world trade center daily, can i take the red line? or do i need to have multiple tickets, or should i just use a daily ticket? what is the best way to deal with this, and is the metro station next to the hotel?
sorry, i’m a little confused, as this is the first time for me.
    thank you

    1. Hi, no the hotel is not next to the Metro station so you will have to find your way to one first. If you’re just going there and back you just get one ticket going each way it’s only worth getting a daily ticket if you are doing more travelling.

  7. Hi,

I have 14 hours of transit stay in Dubai and want to visit a few known places in Dubai, which travel card will suit me ???

    Regards
    Shaz

    1. Hi Shaz, a one day ticket will mean you can make as many trips as you like (as long as your visit does not span 2 days).

  8. I leave in hudheiba ,road 1 and i work in majlis al ghoreifa. I want to take monthly pass then how much i pay for this.

  9. Hello,
Do you know if Sharaf DG station will be closed between 2nd January and 4th, 2019? We’re checking our a hotel nearby and we’ve read it’s closed today. However, we can’t find out why it’s closed.

    1. Hi Paula, we currently don’t have any information about Sharaf DG metro station being closed but will update the site if we do.

  10. I have a monthly pass for Zone 5 and would like to know, how the fare will be deducted if i cross zone five to another zone. Eg.., If i travel from zone five to DIFC, what will be the deduction? whether the fare being calculated for other than zone 5??

    1. Hi Jamal, I would expect this to be deducted as a separate fare from your Nol card but you should contact the RTA for confirmation.

  11. I want to move from Ibn battuta metro station to Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, Dubai Campus. Please suggest the metro and bus route to reach the destination

  12. Hi,
I will be staying at Zone 5, Al Rigga. If i want to go to Mall of Emirates which is in Zone 2, bypassing Zone 6…is that considered 3 Zones journey? or just 2 zones journey?

  13. Dear Sir /Madame,
I am visiting Dubai Air port on 25th nov , to participate in BIG 5 2017.
and hotel is located on Mankhool street . My stay is for seven days.
advise me a metro Ticket card , for my daily traveling as well for sight seeing, which card i should carry / purchase ,for multiple trips and alternate mode of transport

    1. You will need to work out how many journeys you are going to make and if they add up to more than 20 dirhams a day or 110 dirhams for the week. It really depends on where you are travelling and how many trips you make. The Nol card is accepted on the Metro, tram and buses.

  14. I am visiting Dubai for one week, and intend to use the metro, is the silver nol the best bet?

Say I use the metro daily, for two journeys how much should I allow per day?

    1. It really depends on where you are travelling to and from on those journeys. If you only go through 2 zones then it will be 5 dirhams each way with a silver Nol card or 6 dirhams with a Red card – so effectively you save 1 dirham per trip. Slver Nol costs 6 dirhams (plus the credit) and red costs 2 so once you have made 4 journeys silver Nol is cheaper effectively.

  15. Hi
this is as clear as mud.

So if you travel from Dubai Mall to Mall of Emirates you travel from 1 zone to the other (1 zone) or is 4 zones as one zone is Zone 2 and the other is Zone 6.
Why can’t these things ever be clear?
    Please help

  16. Hi,
I’m staying in Sharjah and my new office is located in Business bay Dubai.
I would like to drop my vehicle at Etisalat Station & pick metro to Union station & from union station to Business bay 6 days a week for 1 month up and down.
Could you advise me with the seasonal ticket and the cost

    1. You just need to work out your daily cost checking number of zones from the map and then see if it is cheaper to get a weekly or monthly ticket. I am unable to do personal calculations as I don’t know all your circumstances.
