Dubai Metro Map

We have created this Dubai Metro map from the information that we have gathered about the Dubai Metro stations, the zones and the current information about stations that are open.

Please note that this Dubai Metro Map is subject to copyright and should not be used without our express permission.

We will continue to keep the Dubai Metro map updated with station name changes and any additional stations that may open once the metro gets extended further out.

Station name changes happen occasionally due to companies purchasing the branding rights for a particular station, you can read about any changes in the news section.

You can click on the map for a larger version and print it if required.

After the red line opening on 9 September 2009, the green line of the Dubai Metro opened on 9 September 2011. A few of the stations did not open straight away. However, as of 1 March 2014 all of the stations were fully open on both the green and red lines and in 2021 the Expo 2020 extension was also fully opened.

Both the green and the red lines will likely be extended further in the future to add to the 18 green line stations and the 35 red line station currently being used. There may also be other lines opening in the future. Check out the news page for ongoing information.

As you can see from the Dubai Metro Zones Map, there are currently 4 zones that encompass the Dubai Metro. There are 7 zones in total that also cover other methods of public transport, like the buses and the tram.

The number of zones that you travel through determines the price of the journey. You can buy tickets that encompass all zones, e.g. a one day pass.

Check out the Dubai Metro Tickets page for full information about the fares payable. Fares increased in November 2014 when the Tram opened but still offer great value for money.

  1. Hi,

I need to connect to Al Ghubaiba from Al Rigga Station. Do I drop off at Union Metro Station and then join the Union train connect to Al Ghubaiba on the Green Line.

    Thanks.

    1. Which free zone are you going to? I don’t believe FZE is the name of a free zone but stands for free zone enterprise.

  2. hello , i am hassan
i want to travel dubai and reach terminal 2. . going union metro station, witch metro station near me at terminal 2.

    1. There is a 24 hour shuttle bus between the terminals at Dubai Airport so you can get the metro to terminal 1 and take the shuttle bus from there.

  3. want to travel by metro from dubai terminal 1 to Dubai Internet city station . Do both the metro stations have lifts to carry luggage . We are a family of 3 and would be having 3 bags + 2 hand bags . Will it be possible to use lifts upto the respective platforms

    1. Sorry for the late reply. You can take the Palm Monorail to Palm Gateway station and either walk/taxi to the nearest metro station (Internet City), or else get on the tram to the Marina and change to the metro there.

  4. Jumeira Golf Estates metro station is designated as a zone in itself, because of this if I travel from Gardens to DIP (just 5 stations away) it’s considered 3 zones. This is quite unfair. This kind of discrepancies should be rectified and a more sensible and economical fare pattern should be adopted.

  5. Hello,

I’m planning to visit Expo and some other sightseeing places in Dubai for a week.

May I know which type of Nol cad suits me the best (Maybe a weekly ticket or something similar) and are there any particular discounts for students?

    Thank you!

  6. Hi, From The Garden Metro Station to Dubai Investment park Metro station you are charging AED 7.50. Only 2 Zone shown on your Map. please clarify.

    1. Hi Shafeeq, you are right so is it possible that you didn’t check in and out correctly as if you do not then you will be charged the highest single fare (7.50 AED)?

    2. Hi
We will be staying at the Millennium Airport Hotel and will be travelling daily to Expo 2020 . What would be the fare difference if using the Gold Card or the Silver card . Which would you recommend. We will be Dubai for 8 days and at least 6 days would be spent at Expo 2020 .

  7. I wonder if anyone can help. I will be travelling to Dubai and staying in the palm with my daughter 11 years old. We are staying for 5 days and plan to travel around Dubai via metro. What is the best option for us?

    1. Hi Vee, the metro does not go as far as the Palm so in order to connect with a metro station you will need to come off the palm and possibly take the tram to the metro station at the marina. If you are looking at ticket options then check out this page.

    1. Hi. I’m traveling to Dubai for 3 days with my wife. Which kind of NoI card do you recommend? And also the best route and means of getting to Union metro station from the airport terminal 3?

      1. It depends how much and in which class you want to travel but you could probably just get a red nol each to use for 3 days. You can put 3 daily passes on them if you need to. Check out the map, you only need to go 5 stops on the red line.

  8. Hi,
I live in Abu Dhabi and would like to use the Dubai Metro to reach Deira City Center, which metro station will be suitable to park my car and use the metro everyday?

    Regards,
    Imran.

  9. if i take dubai metro zone pass ( from zone 2 to zone 1) can you confirm zone 2 to zone 1 in rta bus also free , which means this zone pass can be used in both metro as well as buses, and can be used many times even in one day

    1. Hi nikil, I’m not sure I understand what you mean by a ‘zone pass’ – if you travel from one zone to another and include bus and metro then that is classed as one journey (as long as you make the bus transfer within 30 minutes) so you just pay for the whole journey. If you buy a one day ticket (or other duration pass) then you can travel on the metro, bus and tram.
