Extended Operating Hours for New Year’s Eve 2024/25

The RTA has announced the operating hours for the Dubai Metro over the period of the New Year celebrations and these are similar to previous years.

In order to enable people to get home after the new year has been welcomed in, the Dubai metro will be open for 24 hours non-stop for the whole of Wednesday 1st January.

Both the red and green lines will open at 5am on Tuesday 31st December and then will not close until midnight on Wednesday 1st January, After that, they will be back to normal operating house as the lines open at 5am on Thursday 2nd January,

So in all, both red and green lines will be open for 43 hours non-stop.

The only exception to this is the station at Burj Khalifa, which often shuts at around 10pm on New Year’s Eve when the area gets full and so you will have to get to that area beforehand if that is where you want to go to celebrate the new year.

The tram also has extended operating hours and is open until 1am on Thursday 2nd January, after being open the the whole 24 hours of Wednesday 1st January.

There will be fireworks in the Burj Khalifa area as well as in the creek and near the Burj al Arab. There will also be a lot of celebrations down at the marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence so there are plenty of options of places to go to celebrate.
